I was wondering when the nuns sing the preldium are they on stage and what is the show curtain like

Yes they are onstage and come into the audience.

And the show curtain I can't remember actually. I think its plain at the beginning?

Wasnt it plain dark blue with an oval shape logo saying 'The sound of Music' then the oval goes clear to reveal Maria laid on the mountain?
