I like both, but for a more "theatrical" feel, I prefer the revival. And if you want a really good laugh, listen to the 1986 studio recording with Kiri Te Kanawa, Jose Carreras and Mandy Patinkin. The orchestra is the BEST, but the vocals are...well...spectacularly odd. Try "Honey Bun". Wow.
