Posted: 11/3/08 at 8:25amDoes anybody know if the Ambassador Theater box office will sell me a souvenir program around 3 or 4 this afternoon? Or is it only available at showtime?

No ma'am. The box office doesn't have access to any of the concession items (t-shirts, souvenir programs, etc.). Those are locked up in another area, which they don't have access to. They'll advise you to return about an hour prior to any performance when the vendors are already selling them in the lobby.
There are numerous stores throughout the theatre district that DO sell the souvenir program for CHICAGO, so its not just available at the Ambassador Theatre. You can find it at the One Shubert Alley store located on Shubert Alley (between 44th Street and 45th Street), between the Shubert and Booth Theatres.

The box office staff doesn't handle any merchandise. That's a separate company, with a separate financial account. The merchandise is usually locked up until the merch staff gets there, so the box office wouldn't even have access to it. So, no, you won't be able to get a program at that time.
However, the Broadway souvenir stores in and around the theatre district sell souvenir programs. Try the one in Shubert Alley, the one by the St. James Theater, or the one by the Marriot.

Posted: 11/3/08 at 9:52amthe gift shop by the St. James has a stockpile of albums of the OBC of Nine, if anyone is interested. they're actually hidden on a shelf and it took me by surprise to find so many of them. and I was a tad confused as to why they were there.

Posted: 11/3/08 at 10:23amthanks adamgreer and brodyfosse. I bought a souvenir program last night, and I left it at the Mcdonald's counter, then I remembered it, then I left it at the Virgin records counter, where it still is! Hey I wonder if I call Virgin records if they saved it for me.........hmmmmm.

Well, you should definitely call the Virgin Store. Since they don't sell Broadway souvenir programs, it could be likely that they put it aside waiting for that person who left it there to come back for it. Call the department where the register was where you left it behind.
"Absent-minded Me" (cut song from FUNNY GIRL; appears on Barbra Streisand's 1964 album PEOPLE).

Posted: 11/3/08 at 12:55pmAll right I called Virgin and they have my program behind the register! So I'll head over there after school to get it. I'm taking 8 of my kids to see it on Thursday night, and I bought the program last night to show it to them.....so it was frustrating that I left it. But, the 2.00 subway ride will be worth it to get it again. thanks again
