A pity the cow song, other deleted numbers & the 3 farting songs Idle wrote were not on it. There was plenty of room to do it

i got the CD on the same day I got the DRS free CD and i was more impressed with the score to the latter, even though SPAM is a lot more 'singable'

Trust me, it's even better when you *see* the songs being performed. I have no idea where you live, but if you get any chance to see the show - even if it's SRO - do it! If you enjoy the music sight unseen, you *will* enjoy seeing it performed live.

I have the CD and it's nice and all but I have no plans to see the show when I'm in NY. the music is fun but all the songs seem to be a detour from a plot, stopping the show to sing a song about how funny it is that they are stopping the show to sing a song...

I did enjoy the Lady of the Lake's sort of night-club reprise of "The Song That Goes Like This" and the one about not being able to survive on Broadway without Jews was kinda funny, but then was there ever any doubt they were gonna start playing fiddler music? :-/

I love the cd, especially Sara's songs. The Song That Goes Like This and You Won't Succeed on Broadway are very funny songs, but when you see them performed live...WOW! I hope you get to see it, Alix.

Love the cast recording of Spamalot! It's so hilarious! Well I'm a fan of the Monty Python movie, so this is just a real treat! LOL! :)

i hate divas lament.... i dont know why. it just completely bothers me. I liked the show.... but i dont think it lived up to the hype...and i think the CD is kinda mediocre.... they should have had a couple dialogue bits or SOMETHING that made it a bit longer (I wanted to hear the nights who say NI!). it was just a fun night out .... could have been much funnier (by replacing the stupid finland song with the BEST scene about the witch).

I like the CD, the songs are very funny but I have a problem. Everyone is complaining that how could John Lithgow become the main star of DRS when he has no singing voice. Well I think Tim Curry has no singing voice either. You can hear it in the song: All alone.

He does indeed have a singing voice. I was a bit disappointed when I first heard the OCR, as I think he sounded a lot better during the performance I attended (it may have been the best he's ever sounded, actually - he quit smoking about a year ago, and I think it made a difference), but in my humble opinion the man can definitely sing.

Broadway history is chock full of musical performances by stars who couldn't sing. Lauren Bacall, Zero Mostel, Carol Channing, Elaine Stritch, Jim Dale, the list goes on and on.
The truly beautiful should be lawfully restricted from wearing clothing; and the truly butt-ugly should be lawfully mandated from going naked.

I distinctly remember sitting in the audience and at one point whispering to my brother "DAMN that man has pipes" He's mediocre on the recording, but recording changes things. He's absolutely phenomenal live.

So glad to see someone else who noticed a huge difference between how Tim sounded live, and how he sounded on the recording. I remember sitting in the theatre hoping the recording would capture what I was hearing, and was somewhat disappointed that it didn't. I love it all the same, though.

I didn't care for the show. I was very interested if the CD would improve my opinion of the score. It didn't, but I would say it's a decent representation of the show. I'll listen to it a few more times in the future to see if it "grows" on me at all.
