Posted: 8/3/05 at 8:10amMaybe His Name is Lancelot, but then they'd have to change the ending a little. Not really sure how they will cut it. It's a short show as it is, I wish they'd just leave it.

I want nothing to do with these bastardized versions .
Cutting shows so people can get back to the casino sooner & lose their money is not entertainment. What does it say about the creators of any show like this. They watch their creation be butchered for money

Posted: 8/4/05 at 2:09amThey're going to cut: "Come With Me," "Find Your Grail," "Diva's Lament," and any part in "Knights of the Round Table" where the Lady of the Lake sings. Haha, kidding. I have no clue.

Posted: 8/4/05 at 3:35amPersonally as someone who wanted to see the tour, I will not got to a show in Vegas that is not the full production. To me, this is the bigggest sellout - agreeing to limit a tour so a who part of the country cannot see it in order to get them to Vegas. Won't do it. Would rather not see the show.

Posted: 8/4/05 at 12:35pmGeez, it's really hard to say...I can't think of a song I'd really like to see go. I'm wondering about "The Diva's Lament". Yes, it's terrific - as long as you have a suitably strong Lady of the Lake - but it could be cut without any real impact on the plot (such as it is). Although it pains me to say it, I suspect "I'm All Alone" could be cut - the King Arthur character really didn't have much singing to do (something Tim Curry apparently made mention of during the rehearsal period), so it was added at least partially to give him another song. With minor dialogue modifications, it could go. But they'll have to do more than cut songs in order to get the show down to 90 minutes. A lot of the Python bits would probably be the "easiest" to cut, in that many of them are pretty self-contained, but it would be ill-advised considering how many people want to see the show *because* they're Python fans. I'm just happy I'm not the one who has to decide what goes...and I'm also happy I was lucky enough to see the show on Broadway, in its intended form.

I'll be in Vegas, but won't be interested in a 90 minute version, reduced from 2 hrs 5 min.
Is Ave Q also reduced to 90 minutes at Wynn? It has a 2 hrs 15 minute running time, so it's even longer than Spamalot!

Posted: 8/4/05 at 3:56pmThe rumor is all the Broadway shows in Vegas will be 90 min. I have heard it is not so much getting people back into the casinos as it is so they can do two shows a night.
