Mary fits her like a glove. She knows how to balance playing it straight and when to dip into the unhinged. At times I saw echoes of Cole's Mary (in a good way) and Jane found a few new laughs in unexpected places. I loved her Great Day monologue and just about everything about her performance. I think I may even try to see her again near the end of her run. Just excellent.
Cheyenne is perfectly cast. John-Andrew Morrison is great overall, but I t
I had the opportunity to see Jinkx as Mary this week after having seen Cole and the original cast in the role both on and off Broadway. As a fan of Jinkx, I was very excited to see her in the role after reading and hearing raves about her performance. I was also excited to see a new take on Mary as I didn't get to see Tituss, Betty or Hannah in the role.
I'll preface by saying that I am a huge fan of Oh, Mary! It's such a tightly written show and I've rarely l
I’ve seen the show three times now: once downtown and twice on Broadway. It’s remarkable how little has changed and how funny the show felt even on third watch. Cole is a genius.
I will say the show was a bit less enjoyable from the front balcony. The lights and railing made for a terrible view and blocked out just about everything downstage where much of the action is played. I sat front mezz last night and had a much better time. Fortunately I bought my tickets when
No offense taken! This is what these boards are for. I can see what you’re saying, and I laughed out loud when she said “millions!”, but if this was an attempt at absurdism then, for me, it failed.
I saw this on Saturday and thought it was illogical and silly. Carrie Coon was excellent. The rest of the cast was okay. But the plot makes absolutely no sense.

Paranoid schizophrenia is not contagious. Shared delusions, sure. But not at this level. I just could not suspend disbelieve to go along with
Joshua found some new laughs and his acting was great. Didn’t feel as over the top as some Seymours of late. Same with Joy’s Audrey. My favorite of all the Audreys I’ve seen.
Joshua seemed nervous when singing. If you’re a fan of his I might wait until later in the run when he settles into it.
I loved so much of the first film. The cinematography in Part I was mostly gorgeous and sometimes breathtaking. The easter eggs and fan service were subtle. Most importantly, Cynthia, Ariana, and Jon M. Chu found so much emotional depth in hidden places. The Ozdust Ballroom scene comes immediately to mind. I was really looking forward to a similar experience in For Good. Some spoilers ahead.
While I enjoyed the experience, I didn't find it as transcendent as others on here. I did think the vocalists were incredible and there were a few very powerful moments where I agree it was best to let the music wash over you. I also thought the non-invasive audience interaction (really, just eye contact) was very effective, and I found myself observing the rest of the audience for much of the show as well.
I'd definitely recommend it, particularly as they offer some grea
Folks might be reading too deeply into this. There was no major 'tease' campaign from the studio or Jon M. Chu. He simply mentioned celebrity casting for the Lion in a wider-ranging interview, but said he wasn't ready to share the casting yet. Then a couple news outlets picked it up as a story, even though there wasn't one. I don't think anyone was intending a bait and switch here.
Coleman is pretty excellent in everything he does.
"Disney’s request was met with swift backlash last week, after news outlets reported on the company’s claim that Dr. Tangsuan’s husband, Jeffrey Piccolo, had agreed to arbitration when he signed up for a free trial of the streaming service Disney+ and was therefore not eligible to sue."
Keep calling them out and canceling those subscriptions, folks. They value their reputation. Their megalomaniacal CEO, Bob Iger, is obsessed with his. Just read his memoir.
I've canceled my Disney+ and cited Bob Iger's cowardice in my decision. Yes, he was driven to the decision by the prospect of Nextar, etc., pre-empting Kimmel's show, but this man has folded like an absolute coward in the face of a wannabe king now on two separate occasions. Disney does not deserve our money.
