Got lucky last night by getting the last SRO ticket for Spamalot. I thought maybe the rain would keep some people away. Anyway I'm hoping this won't turn into a Sara bashing thread, but I'm sure it will.
She looked like she was wearing Christina Applegate type boots for her ankle. They did change the choreography for Knights of the Roundtable. At one point she would go up on a square box, dance a little, then come down. They had David Hyde Pierce do it and she went center stage instead. I guess she is still recovering from the sprain.
The show was great but the crowd was less rowdy than normal. It was Yom Kippur so maybe it's true that "You won't succeed on Broadway if you don't have any Jews:...lol.
DHP has been ad libbing his piano part so I asked him at the stage door if he ever did the Frasier theme and he said he did when Kelsey Grammer was there. Wish I had been at that show. I'm sure that got a great reaction.
Sara also came out to sign at the stage door. There wasn't as big a crowd as normal as it was raining outside. She even went inside and got someone a playbill since theirs had gotten wet.
Anyway, Sara will be leaving in a few weeks so at least then, the bashing should hopefully stop. I personally wish her the best of luck. TV is a tough medium these days. Not only for Broadway actors, but for shows and actors in general. Not sure if it's that there are not many quality shows being written or the networks don't give shows a chance to get an audience, but it seems like shows don't last very long anymore unless they are popular right off the bat. She is extremely talented so I think if she gets a show with some good writing, she'll do great.
