Spamelot... anyone???

Can anyone tell me what the basis for the Spamelot musical is about? I have seen a few of the british episodes of monty python... but i Have no idea what they are supposed to be about... can anyone give me a basic explanation "monty python" for dummies... thanks

Spamalot is based on the movie "Monty Python & the Holy Grail." It's a spoof on the story of the Knights of the Round Table.

Yes, SPAMalot is based on MP and the Holy Grail, and it was actually written by Eric Idle, a member, so you know its gotta be funny.

Synopsis:

King Arthur travels around Britain recruiting men to be Knights of the Round Table. The Voice of God tells them they must find the Holy Grail - the cup that Jesus drank from at the Last Supper. The various knights have comical adventures as they look for the Grail.

In the movie, the Grail is never found. In the stage musical, they do find it - in a surprising location.
