Spelling Bee

Just wanted to have a temporary mourning for Spelling Bee's Off-Broadway closure-and a thread to start excitement of the move to Broadway!

re: Spelling Bee

Can't wait to see their Tony performance

re: Spelling Bee

re: Spelling Bee

I don't know anything about this show but it's sounds stupid.

re: Spelling Bee

Tickets are now on sale..just got tix for May 1...row A left orchestra, 8 seats off aisle...the seating chart looked really weird though...

re: Spelling Bee

Oh man, I really, really want to see that show. I'm obsessed with William Finn. It's also the best name for a musical ever. I am delighted that it is coming to Broadway because I just am. You know something like that will be good from the second you hear its name. As for you, bronxboundexpress, I would devour your soul for being idiotic, but you clearly have none.

re: Spelling Bee

Is there any other way to get tickets besides the $95.00 ones? I want to see the show...but only one ticket price doesn't allow me to buy tickets any time soon.

Going back May 8th :) Second row center, baby.

JOHN LITHGOW I just realized, your last name is Butz! Both "Norbert" AND "Butz" are in your name! You must have gotten picked on a lot as a child!

But I second you, FOAnatic.

re: Spelling Bee

wow bronxboundexpress.... you make me feel physically naseuse. Actually my heart just threw up. Please tell me that you're joking. Not only are you making a judgement on a show without seeing it, it's also a William Finn show, a composer that is truly wonderful. If you are sorry, I pity your limited openess of contemporary musical theater.

re: Spelling Bee

PS-I'm obsessed with this show-I can't wait to see it again! I've already managed to see it twice! I was even a speller the first time!

re: Spelling Bee

Bronx- you are an extremely negative person.

re: Spelling Bee

I NEED to see this show again before Tony's. But I really can't afford $95 unless I eat cereal every meal for two weeks. AAAHHHHHHHH PLEASE HAVE RUSH!!!!!

re: Spelling Bee

I LOVED this show so much. Those "definitions and sentences" were so fantastic!

Bronx?

"but it's sounds stupid."

It's a good thing that your statement doesn't come off ignorant OR grammatically incorrect, isn't it.

I'll also add lazy. I think this is one of the only boards around that allow you to go back in and edit your own posts. With that ability, one would think that if you were going to be smug, you'd at least take the time to make sure you didn't leave yourself open for criticism.

re: Spelling Bee

Why am I still finding no discounts or rush or student tickets? There's gotta be something.... right?!?!?!

(Grumbles) Must keep record of never paying more than $40 for a show...
#18

re: Spelling Bee

haha! This one is worth the full price!
#19

re: Spelling Bee

Rumor has it there will be a lottery, like Wicked and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels have, rather than rush.

I would think there will be a discount of some sort...

re: Spelling Bee

There should be other ticket prices. Even though it may be worth it, $95 dollar tickets are not going to attract poor college kids. Even "Wicked" has $50 seats, although hard to get the date you want. Granted, the Gershwin is one of the largest Broadway houses...but one ticket price is asking a bit much.

re: Spelling Bee

Does anyone know if Bee is touring 05-06 or 06-07. I see they are being represented by The Road Company so I assume a tour is being prepped.

re: Spelling Bee

re: Spelling Bee

Bronx, with your taste in shows, you really don't have room to call anything stupid.
