For those of you who have seen Spelling Bee, who do you think will be nominated for featured actor and actress, since they probably arent eligible for leading?
I dont have my playbill with me, but I personally loved the woman who had two daddys, and the asian woman. I also loved the lead guy who won the bee. I'm curious!

Posted: 3/20/05 at 6:43pmI think the other two were better, but Ferguson's perf. was nominee-worthy. He played a few different parts (Leaf being the main, one of Logainne's fathers, and maybe something else; I don't remember). Leaf could have been mean-spirited, but Ferguson managed to make him hilarious, adorable, and completely believable. He reminded me of a lot of kids I know.

I really thought Dan Folger's performance was nuanced and brilliant.
I loved Jesse too.
I mean, I loved all of them!

Jesse Tyler Ferguson should probably get one. He was definitely a standout.

40000 more brilliant then Q?
I can't imagine that being a reality, but i will have to see Bee.
Personally, nothing has beat Q for me yet. Nothing. Nada.

I don't have my playbill in front of me but the I loved the woman who played Marcy Park. It was a good show; but I didn't like it as much as Spamalot or DRS. I hope it does well on B'way.

Posted: 3/21/05 at 8:52amMy vote goes to Dan Folger. I can still hear him pronouncing his name ( its....bar...fay )and it still cracks me up 2 months later! There are some great performances in this musical. Spelling Bee is still the funniest show out there. With DRS a close second.

Posted: 3/21/05 at 5:18pmWhy is everyone constantly comparing Spelling Bee to Ave Q. Just because they are both small "cinderella story" shows? They have nothing in common

I think it'll be Ferguson, Folger, HOPEFULLY Saltzberg cause I thought she was fantastic, and prolly Keenan-Bolger (did I spell any of those right?)
