Threw out all the music
Threw out the current book
Kept the flying and the set. They could start again.
Perhaps get a decent composer and book writer involved.

Posted: 7/7/12 at 2:38pmI love this show. No the book and score aren't the greatest, but I loved it. Awesome special effects, beautiful design, and just a fun show. I love my audios of the first incarnation (which I did not get to see)... I love 1.0 the same way I love Wonderland - extremely bad campy nonsense with super catch tunes. Deeply Furious and Think Again are the epitome of camptastic nonsense. Too bad both songs were meant to be taken seriously...

I saw the show several times in previews while Julie Taymor was directing, and once after the "new" version was being performed. The Taymor version had stunning moments of visual theatricality that were inexplicably deleted from the "new" version. The current version basically extends Act One in a predictable manner through Act Two, including the return of Green Goblin. This is all ok, but I can't imagine why the
Taymor magic was excised...I actually thought the "new" version was worse.
