Does anyone know the exact lines for the very first scene in "Spring Awakening" between Wendla and her mother right after "Mama Who Bore Me"? I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

MAMA. Wendla?

WENDLA. Mama!

MAMA. Goodness. Look at you. In that kindergarten dress. Wendla! Grown up girls can not be seen strutting about in such—

WENDLA. Let me wear this one Mama. I love this one. It makes me feel like a little fairy queen.

MAMA. But you’re already in bloom. You make me forget all out good news. Just imagine Wendla, last night, the stork finally visited your sister. Brought her another baby girl.

WENDLA. I can’t wait to see her Mama.

MAMA. Well, put on a proper dress, and take a hat.

WENDLA. Mama! I’m an aunt for the second time now and I still have no idea how it happens. Mama, please, I’m ashamed to even ask, but then who could I ask but you?

MAMA. Wendla, child, you can not imagine that I would—

WENDLA. You can not imagine that I still believe in the stork.

MAMA. I honestly don’t know what I have done to deserve this kind of talk. And on a day like today. Go child, put your clothes on.

WENDLA. And if I run out now and ask Gregor, our chimney sweep?

MAMA. Very well, I’ll tell you everything. But not today. Tomorrow or the day after that.

WENDLA. Today Mama.

MAMA. Wendla Bergmann, I simply can not.

WENDLA. Mama.

MAMA. It’ll drive me mad.

WENDLA. I’ll kneel at your feet, lay my head in your lap. You can talk as if I weren’t even here. Please?

MAMA. Very well I’ll tell you.

[Wendla kneels before her mother. Mama covers Wendla’s head with her apron.]

MAMA. Child?

WENDLA. Mama?

MAMA. Alright then. In order for a woman to conceive a child... you follow me?

WENDLA. Yes Mama.

MAMA. For a woman to bare a child she must... in her own personal way she must love... love her husband. Love him as she can love only him. Only him. She must love, love with her whole heart. There now you know everything.

WENDLA. Everything?

MAMA. Everything. So help me.
