Does it have a director?
>>This week and next, while directors are getting ready to meet the press and critics as they premiere their latest works on the world stage at Cannes, in the Cannes Marketplace, producers and film companies big and small will try and get financing together for their gestating projects. Among the many titles fighting for dollars is, apparently, an adaptation of the Tony-award winning musical "Spring Awakening" with none other than McG at the helm.<<
Possible Movie
I know I'm in the minority, but I think Spring Awakening is completely perfect for the whole "Rob Marshall" style movie musical resurgence. I don't think Rob should direct it, but his concept of songs needing some kind of device as an excuse for modern audiences to accept the songs would work perfectly for this since the songs are basically MTV music videos designed to be in complete contrast to the repressed German setting. I almost feel like the concept created for the stage show would work even better on film.

The article states that McG is set to direct which means the project already has a director, if this news is reliable, that is.
