Okay this is my 3rd time seeing the show, twice in New York and once in Baltimore. I would have to say overall I enjoyed the performances from the tour cast much better than the Broadway, but I did miss some things from the Broadway cast, mainly acting choices. O ya Matt was out and Chase was on as Georg!

Christy Altomore - Great voice, her acting could be more innocent but overall she was just great!

Kyle Riabko - His acting and voice were just amzing, there was nothing really bad about him! His replacement will have a hard time filling his shoes.

Blake Bashoff - I just fell in love with his Mortiz! He was so funny, compared to Gerard Canonico, who had a rocker edge to him, which was enjoyable! I like his voice, but do not love it but it is very nice and different. ***Spoiler*** My friend who came with me knew that he was going to die and said "I just don't want to see him go, his story is not finished!" Which is so true!

The Girls - Gabrielle Garza, Kimiko Glenn, Sarah Hunt, and Steffi D - They were all great!! They sounded just very nice together, Mama Reprise WOW!!!! They had a lot of energy!! Kimiko was so spunky! Gabrielle just had this innocence to her which was nice to see. Sarah did a good job as Martha, the scene before the song was good, I really enjoyed her acting there but in the song I would have liked to see a little bit more. Steffi! What can I say her voice was just the greatest! I can look beyond her acting choices and just listen to her voice!

The Boys -Andy Mientus, Ben Moss, Anthony Lee Medina, Chase Davidson ? Overall they were a much stronger group than the closing Broadway cast but I do love those guys! Andy was such a creeper! I really enjoyed him; the creeper approach was very funny! Ben has a great voice and he was perfect as Ernst, his acting choices were spot on! Anthony made such a small character have some substance to him, good voice! Chase was such a good Georg! I asked him at the stage door how many times he has went on as Georg and he said this was his 7th. After hearing that I could definitely see how he was settling into the role! His Touch Me solo was a little reserved but good! My Junk was spot on! Angela and him were just so funny!

The Adults - Angela Reed Henry Stram ? I have to say I was disappointed by the both of them. Angela could have done so much more for the characters, especially the school teacher! I think the problem was that I was use to Christine, she was just so funny she was totally hamming it up towards the end of her run! As for Henry the biggest thing was the scene between him and Moritz, when he was telling his father that he had failed. If I remember correctly there was a slap somewhere in there and that was not done, Blake just got down on his knees and looked like he was praying, I am not sure if Henry was not conformable with that, or was it Blake?

Overall the show was great and I am so happy I got to see this cast! The one thing I missed was in the reformatory scene was the circle jerk it was not in the hole in the stage but above it. It turned out fine but I liked the other way better.

It was Stram. He couldn't pull off the physical violence at all so they had to change it. Somehow that's the best the director could come up with. Stram is horrid when he hits Melchi with the stick in the 2nd scene as well. Other than THAT, though I really liked him.

Likewise I really liked Angela Reed better than any other Adult Women besides Christine.

While I agree that I like the tour more than the final cast on B'way....they are still far inferior to the cast before The New Class arrived. There were strengths and good points to all the casts, but the magic could not be matched once July/August 08 hit.

Blake Bashoff is the best thing to happen to the tour cast, period. (But I am biased.) It will be interesting to see how many replacements there will be for the 2nd year of the tour.

Riabko leaves after Philadelphia (next week?) And Bashoff, Moss and a few others leave at the break after Chicago. But I don't know any more specifics.

That is really intresting about Stram, I really liked it with the violence, it was so much more powerful.

The only Adult Man I've ever seen is Henry Stram and I had no idea there was even supposed to be a slap in that scene until I read about it here. So FWIW, it works if ignorance is bliss. re: Spring Awakening Tour Baltimore 2pm 6/13/09

I am jealous you got to see Chase go on! I'm sure he was wonderful.

Kyle Riabko - His acting and voice were just amzing, there was nothing really bad about him! His replacement will have a hard time filling his shoes.

You didn't find him a little too...condescending? I feel like he was just annoyed with Moritz the whole show. Also, I feel like he was definitely tired of the role. Maybe it was just because I saw it a few times too many, but it seemed towards the end he was just doing ridiculous voices and making faces with Steffi D just to amuse himself.

When I saw it in Louisville, Angela Reed stole every scene she was in, in a good way. Also, Seffi D was out and her understudy was kick ass. Julie something, played the reprise of Blue Wind (when she sang with Moritz) very hurt/angry which I felt brought something new to the song. I don't know where i'm going with this. Glad you enjoyed the show.

I saw him do this funny walk after My Junk which was strange, but that was it.

I sat on stage this past Tuesday in Baltimore, and at one point Kyle walked on stage and winked at Julie (who was sitting 2 seats away) and made a little face at her.

I also got to see Perry Sherman go on as Georg this past Friday, and he was spectacular! He has a fantastic voice, and I loved his rendition of Touch Me.

I do think I like this cast as a whole much better then the closing Broadway cast, which I also saw. I was very impressed with Sarah Hunt who plays Martha, just because The Dark I Know Well on Broadway when I saw it was absolutely terrible. She actually put emotion into the scene beforehand, and the song had more emotion then when I saw it in New York. Kimiko as Thea was perfect. Also, Ben Moss who plays Ernst has a phenomenal voice, and I loved him in the role. Ditto with Anthony Medina. What the heck, every one of them is fantastic!

I actually enjoyed the Adult Woman in this class. I mean Christine was fantastic, but I did like Angela. I however was not overly impressed with either of the Adult Men I saw.

I ended up seeing the show 3 times in Baltimore: once on stage, once in the orchestra, and once in the Mezzanine, and I loved it from all angles. This is a great cast, and I'm so happy I got to see them.

Agree completely. Sarah is truely a great performer. If you watch her during Left Behind, she gets so emotional and is always crying unlike most of the cast. And what a beautiful voice.

I also have to agree about Sarah Hunt. I think she fits the role perfectly and she performs the song with so much emotion.

I can look beyond her acting choices and just listen to her voice!

What acting choices did you not like?

Regarding the slap: when I saw it on Broadway Moritz's father slapped him twice.

Her acting was too fake for me, especailly when she was crying.
