Spring Awakening cast

I haven't seen it yet, but I want to see some of the Original Cast before they are all gone.

So,
1) Who has left the show? I know John Gallagher has, which I really wanted to see him
Spring Awakening cast.
2) Who is still there?
3) Is it known when any of them are leaving?

I live in Florida so it is hard. I can't just go into NY and see it when I want to.

re: Spring Awakening cast

Johnathan Groff and Lea Michele have extended to May. It would definitely be worth a trip to see those two in the show (in my opinion). There are also numerous other originals still left in the show - especially the young performers.
So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?

re: Spring Awakening cast

Ok thanks god
I really want to see them. I'm pretty sure I can get there before May.
Who is replacing John Gallagher?

re: Spring Awakening cast

Gideon Glick (Ernst) left awhile ago. Now Ernst is played by Blake Daniel. Pretty much everyone but Gallagher and Glick are there when it comes to main characters, some of the ensemble members have been changed.

re: Spring Awakening cast

Kate Burton is playing the Adult Women for a few months and Glenn Fleshler has taken over the Adult Men there. Jenn Damiano, one of the swings, just left, and Eryn Murman has taken over her chair.
Eryn's great--I saw her as Anna earlier in the year; Kate's gotten mixed reviews, Glenn seems to be getting mostly negative reviews, and I've heard a lot of good things about Blake Bashoff.
And I understand the love for Gideon--but his replacement Blake Daniel is really good--you can look up a cast performance outside the theater during the strike and hear his "Touch Me" solo if you're curious about his voice.

re: Spring Awakening cast

oh! and a couple other things...

before you go:
I strongly suggest going to an evening performance if you want to stagedoor the show--you're more likely to get to meet more members of the cast.
And if you want to have them sign something, come prepared---bring a silver sharpie if you want them to sign your playbill or if you have the black windowcard with the legs on it, otherwise a black sharpie will do just fine.

Have a great time! I'm from Tennessee so I can understand being far away from New York, but it's a great experience when you finally get to go.

re: Spring Awakening cast

Skander- I was planning on going to an evening performance because, I just really don't prefer Matinees.

But thanks for the heads up. I'll remember to bring a silver sharpie

Am I the only one who doesn't like Spring Awakening?

No, but what was the point of posting about your dislike in this thread?

re: Spring Awakening cast

I didn't like Glenn Fleschler much either. All of his various roles seemed to blend together- there was no differentiation. With Spinella, you could see the subleties in all the different characters he played.

re: Spring Awakening cast

I apologize but i just wanted to know, what is so great about this show, I have a couple friends who absolutely adore it. My one friend got and audition and made it to call backs, but i will refrain from posting in appropriately again

re: Spring Awakening cast

the new Ernst, is quite good.

Kate Burton is lovely as well,

E.Davis, considering most people who click on and are participating in this thread like spring awakening i would say yes, you are the only one that does not really like it.

re: Spring Awakening cast

I just saw Blake perform last week, and he did a fantastic job. I absolutely loved him as Moritz. He took some of the things that John did and twisted them to make them his own. It was awesome.

Blake(Daniel) is a REALLY good Ernst

re: Spring Awakening cast

I saw all the replacements on Dec 22.
Blake Bashoff was amazing, and I prefer him to John Gallagher.

Kate Burton was terrible. Though it was her second show, I really don't believe she's going to improve. She's a great serious actress, but her comical scenes (which are alot, actually) fall flat. Her speaking voice is also very annoying.

Glenn Flesher is okay, however, he's just way too angry.

Blake Daniel is a good Ernst, however Gideon is truly being missed.

E. Davis - it has a young energetic cast with great music. That's why I like it. But no, you're far from the only person who dislikes it.

So is Pheobe Strole back? I know she left and was rumored to come back, but I never heard.
