Broadway celebration, 'Sondheim On Sondheim', is all set for an April 2011 opening in the West End.
The production that was seen at Broadway's Studio 54 recently will open most probably at the Wyndhams Theatre next spring.
A mix of American and British performers will make up the company.

Just had the email saying it was due now for spring 2011.
Guess they didn't want to rush it and maybe get the names they want.
I think it would be better done now and gotten done with !t and keep 2011 Sondheim free!

I've done some digging- its Cook they want in London.
She has always loved performing in London even if it was only to 29 people at the Noel Coward!!!

I'd love Barbara Cook to come over with this.

And, unless The Priory starts doing rehab for Sondheads on withdrawal, I'll need this show for my 2011 Sondfix.

AMAZING news. I've heard that Sonia Friedman is producing? If so, we're bound to get Maria in it right? Absolutely love the cast recording for this show, and agree that I'd love Barbara Cook to come over, as well as Leslie Kritzer and Norm Lewis. Amazingly happy about this news!

They'll struggle to get Barbra Cook on a plane. Not meaning they horribly, but apparently she is really reluctant to fly now.

Maria Friedman, I'd say is a cert surely.

Vanessa Williams is doing Desperate Housewives so unless she can take off to do a London season, I imagine she'll be replaced.

If Maria Friedman is in, she will play Vanessa's part.

"Norm Lewis? Really?

His performance of Being Alive..

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

If you ask me, his performance is pretty much dead.
