Stage hero or Movie hero ?

Sometimes the line is now being blurred as stage actors move into stage roles and film actors take over stage roles.

Is someone confused here - LOL!

At a Disney Event --

Brawn, braggadocio, and baritone ... or... Muscles, mutton chops, and mutant claws ??

Did Disney want to recast Hugh Jackman as Gaston ( his first stage role) -- or fold in the franchise of the XMen ( his first Hollywood role) into MCU/Disney ??

Actors, composers, book and screenwriters are now moving from one performing branch to another.

Who are your other favorites or suggestions for crossovers?

Stage hero or Movie hero ?

1. that's not a real Disney event.

2. huh? No idea what you are asking.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Stage hero or Movie hero ?

I thought the photo was amusing.

Which actors and what kind of roles can do crossovers both ways -- are there film roles that a film actor can take to the stage ( such as the forthcoming To Kill a Mockingbird stage project earlier announced) or are there stage actors who can move to a film adaptation of a role that he may have performed on stage ( such as a Wicked movie adaptation)?

Or simply a more frequent crossover of performers in any role for both mediums?

Stage hero or Movie hero ?

Hi Jo

Not 100% sure I understand what you are asking ... however, many of the Rent cast crossed over between stage and the film.

Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nathan Lane and Kristin Chenoweth all come to mind as my favourite successful actors who started on Broadway and then moved to between Theatre and Film

And Bette is returning to Broadway after a hiatus! Patrick Wilson is another good example who crossed over to the film medium, starting with a musical ( Phantom), but becoming more successful in a different movie genre. Will he ever return to Broadway?

Byran Cranston has been equally successful and recognized on stage and on film.
