Posted: 11/10/07 at 12:26amI heard that at the negotiations one producers remarked," I mean these guys make enough to buy a house" as if it were extravagant.

I understand that comment was made during AEA negotiations as well. As if professionals working in what is considered the top of their field shouldn't be able to buy homes. As if most Americans shouldn't be given the opportunity to buy homes.
It's a disgusting comment to make.

Your "friend" says its official - localonecrew, who is a poster at broadwayworld.com says "we walk tomorrow" and yet, there, in fact, hasn't been one "official" word about tomorrow. All there has been is "sources" "my friend" and anonymous folks around here. As this paragraph from the AP and Playbill states:
"Neither the League nor the union has released an official statement. Lisa Linden, a spokesperson for the League told AP, "We have not heard from Local One regarding a strike and it would be shocking if they would hurt the theatergoing public by shutting down Broadway without notice."
Tomorrow morning I suspect there will be official word - for now, it's all Internet twaddle.

Posted: 11/10/07 at 2:35amIt's all over playbill. All of our unions have been sending out notices all day. How much more official do you want it??

Posted: 11/10/07 at 2:39amAll of "your" unions have been saying there is the possibility of a strike after the meeting in the morning. If that's "official" for you, great. It's certainly not official as there has not been one official word out of the union that has to MAKE it official. That's how much more official I want it. In the morning it may well be official. It isn't now. There is no arguing this point.

Posted: 11/10/07 at 2:40amI saw the magic Flute this evening. I spoke to one of the stagehands there. he said that they were striking tomorrow. We spoke about how long he thinks it will last. He says that he thinks that it will last about a week or less. And we were talking about how it would be great for the union if the city gets involved which will happen. He says that it would be great because the city would pretty much have thelague do what it is that the unions wanted.

most producers are souless creatures, are you really that shocked? I mean, look at the weisslers, no one that would cast Melanie Griffith could have a soul.

Chason,
Go here http://www.iatselocalone.org/news/press83.html to see Local One's positions. I don't have a site for the League's positions but hopefully someone else will.
