Stars Hollow, the Musical

I loved the musical in episode 3 (Summer) of the Gilmore Girls reboot.

Move over "Red, White and Blaine" there's a new small town musical in town. "Stars Hollow, the Musical" has it all. Christian Borle and Sutton Foster, music by Jeanine Tesori, a Hamilton rap rip off, an Abba number at curtain. It's a hit!

The Stars Hollow Musical was by far the worst part of Gilmore Girls. What a waste of valuable time. Way too long and self indulgent Horrible

If "The Producers" produced this instead of "Springtime for Hitler " they would have really lost their money.

I know that many fans are disappointed, but I loved all 4 episodes. I didn't find the Stars Hollow musical long winded, at all.It felt the most like an original special episode of the show (Dance Marathon, Living Painting, Fiddler on the Roof). That last song Foster say just gutted me. But I totally get why the musical, and the directions the revival took in general, irked people. Though do think that the final four words would have had more weight if they were said 7 years ago.

I loved it. And it DID feel like the original show, which would often take such diversions. As for getting in the way of the plot(s) - personally, I think the joy of the series was skipping amidst the twee minutia of Stars Hollow. As for plot developments, NO - not another Rory and Lorelai aren't speaking arc, or either of them getting involved with someone clearly wrong for them... Give me Stars Hollow, the Musical or Oooober.

Although, I'll gladly trade pretty much any scene for one with Kelly Bishop!
