Stars in the Alley '06

Does anyone know if this event is going to happen this year? I haven't seen or heard anything on it yet.

re: Stars in the Alley '06

It's an event in Shubert Alley that takes place at the beginning of the summer. Stars from the season's biggest shows showcase some of the songs. It's a good time.

re: Stars in the Alley '06

Oohh...I'll have to take off from work...I'm excited already! I always enjoy STARS IN THE ALLEY...not as much as BROADWAY ON BROADWAY or BROADWAY IN BRYANT PARK...but it's usually fun. My only problem is standing for that whole 90 minutes, cramped in with what seems like thousands of other people. I'll try to get there extra early this year!

Thanks for the info!

Sardines in the alley! Good times.
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

I can't wait for this. I planned my vacations this year around Stars In The Alley/Tony's Week and the Broadway Flea Market in September. Only 5 weeks to go.

re: Stars in the Alley '06

I wanna go to the Broadway Flea Market this year. And possibly Stars in the Alley, depends on missing school.

I loved Bryant Park last year when I went- ALL SHOOK UP, LENNON & LION KING preformed. I loved it.

Bway on Bway is always a highlight for me, because you see so many musicals showcase songs- new shows && old favorites.

-dude, you really need to expand your musical interests. Anyways, the answer is most likely yes. I bought stuff last year and the year before form shows that had closed (recent shows that had closed and past shows-ragtime, cabaret ect..)

I'm kinda in this weird ASU thing right now. I do enjoy other shows. I love Into the Woods too. I love listening to that. I'm just in one of those kicks- you know where you cant stop listening to a CD or thinking about it. For right now- its ALL SHOOK UP, next week it could be HAIRSPRAY or CABARET- you never know.

re: Stars in the Alley '06

they have great stuff there! they have endless tables overflowing with playbills, dvds, pictures, old magazines with broadway articles, and just so much stuff!

last year i got Patti LuPone on broadway playbill, Sweeney Todd in concert playbill, a broadway towel, a framed collection of autographed pictures of Gary Beach for only $25!! that was a steal and i met Kelli O'Hara, Derrick Baskin and Cheyene Jackson. There are stars walking around and are happy to sign autographs- fo free! lol unless you do the whole standing in line to meet people and paying $20- just wait til they leave and chase them haha

i'm so excited to go again, it's a blast and broadway on broadway is a great time too. we got there at like 7 in the morning and stood in line for 4 hours. but it was totally worth it because we were sooo close to the stage

I so wanna go. I sent my aunt who takes me to NY to save the date.

re: Stars in the Alley '06

The flea market is a huge amount of fun, as are the Bryant Park concerts.

I spend way too much at the flea market, but knowing that it goes to a good cause makes it worth it.

re: Stars in the Alley '06

If I go this year, it will be my third time to be in the Alley with the stars re: Stars in the Alley '06

But I do have to run fast to get to my SWEENEY TODD 2:00 pm matinee 4 blocks up re: Stars in the Alley '06

re: Stars in the Alley '06

If you go to Stars in the Alley, try to get there around 8am. I got there around then and had the best spot - front and center, right behind the fencing. I wish I could go again this year, but I'll be in Disney World, so I guess it's all a trade off. re: Stars in the Alley '06

re: Stars in the Alley '06

I'm gonna be at as much as I can this year because I missed Stars in the Alley and Bryant Parks last season. Of course this is difficult because I live in Maryland.

Clumsy - I took that pic right?!!? And I will ALWAYS <3 ASU TOO =)

re: Stars in the Alley '06

I live in Maryland too, broadway_show_fan. that is why I specifically planned my vacations around this and the flea market, so I would not miss them. jo, I know how you feel. I am lucky enough to be seeing The History Boys matinee that day, so I will only be feet away.
