Stepanie Block w/o the "J." back in 1994--Pix here!

I thought that some of you might get a kick of seeing Stephanie's headshot, bio, and a picture of her as Nellie in South Pacific from early 1994. This was the second time I saw her (in San Gabriel, CA), the first having been as Fanny in Funny Girl in October of 1993 in Downey, CA. Wow, has she come a long way, though even back then she had a lot of credits to her name. No "J." in either show program, though, which leads me to believe that it was added when she became Equity (which she still wasn't at that time.) By the way, she was tremendous in both shows, and I remember being excited when I learned that she was in SP having already seen and loved her in FG.
PS: Anybody else seen any early SJB shows?

No old shows, but I've seen her perform at the Robby Awards a couple of years ago. Sadly, I haven't had the chance to see her in an actual show.

Well that's a crass way of putting it but she can't be in her late 20's like is claimed if that picture is over 10 years old. She looks 35 there. I'm sure she's *thrilled* that you unearthed it Eslgr8, really, what a disservice.

Al....Where is it claimed that she's in her late 20's? I know for a fact that she's not 35. I would like to read where it says that late 20's remark so I can tell her that someone is spreading lies. Yes, to her favor, but lies none-the-less.

I posted the picture and bio because I have been a Stephanie fan since I first saw her 11 1/2 years ago, and I thought her fans might enjoy seeing her program bio and headshot when she was just starting out. Also, as there has been some discussion of when she added the "J." to her name, I wanted to point out that it must have been after she'd started to perform, and not earlier on as has been posted elsewhere. I have no doubt that Stephanie is as young as she says she is. She was clearly starting out way back then, as her bio indicates. I was and remain one of her biggest fans and can't wait to see her perform on July 19th in Wicked!!!

Does look like Al Martino, but it is in fact an actor named Francesco Sorianello.
