I can understand that you don't like the show, but I don't understand how you wish it would close. If it were to close right now, a new show would probably not move into the Hirschfeld until the fall, at least. The only show opening between now and October is Martin Short's show, so this would be putting all of the actors and musicians out of work. I can understand if you don't like it, but please don't wish that it would close.

I didn't think Laura seemed too old, but maybe she does to some because Drew Barrymore looks far younger than she does.

I'm never for the "it puts people out of work/keeps people in work" argument, I think that's bull. There's always more work to come, and when a show has to close, it's gotta close.

However, I had a great time at Wedding Singer and I really enjoyed it, so I'm all for it staying open as long as it has an audience.

I think it's hysterical that people think a show should close because they hate it. I think Lestat and Hot Feet suck, but I'm not losing sleep at night because they're open. Hell, it barely crosses my mind. Why? Because I don't waste my time whining and thinking about shows I don't personally enjoy. Some people take stuff way too personally - either that or they think that they are so important that their opinion is the only one that matters.

I guess if there were several amazing new musicals currently WAITING for theaters because they were desperate to open THIS SUMMER, I'd be more eager for something I didn't like to close.. but eh.
