MAJOR Threadjack, I suppose, but does anyone happen to have the Criterion laserdisc of CARRIE?
Lawrence D. Cohen did a commentary for it where he talks extensively about how he adapted the book into the film AND musical... it's never been put on any of the DVD releases.
Also, anyone have the EVITA laseridsc with Alan Parker's commentary? Again, never brought over to the DVD version...
Either way, I suppose there is no easy technology to transfer the commentary tracks from a laserdisc to a computer MP3 file...
I've been looking for both for 10 years. Anyone have either of these?

You can vote on TCM.com for films that are not yet on DVD. It's better than sitting around doing nothing. I've been voting for Nutcracker Fantasy for years.
Vote for Stepping Out
Don't have the Criterion Collection Laserdisc of CARRIE but I do have the one for EVITA. A few years ago I transferred onto DVD the entire film with Alan Parker's sensational audio commentary. I believe I can make an MP3 audio rip of this.
Let me know if you want this.
When Steppin Out played on Broadway, I was in the minority but I loved it! I cared about the characters and their soap opera lives, but the feel good razzle-dazzle ending is what I recall most. The film didn't disappoint me, and it was great seeing a copy of it recently. I always considered it under rated.
OK, I watched the film again today. Someone very kindly burned a copy onto DVD for me from his laserdisc copy. However, the quality isn't great - it was like watching VHS on my 50 inch plasma.
So.........
With the film's 20th anniversary next year, why, oh why isn't there at least a bare bones DVD???
I have the film that a pal burned onto DVD for me. I loved the original play it was based on. The finale was a true feel good moment for me.
