Haha, too funny. We all make mistakes, don't worry about it.

And the stereotype that I get is that all actors wear black and are weird. I hate that. There are tons of us who look like normal people and do "normal" things. I was wearing a black turtle neck a family holiday party and one of my uncles came up to me and said: "Oh, black, that's so actor." Dumb.

The most common sterotype I've heard about actors is that they are self-obsessed, attention whores who need to be in the spotlight to feel validated. Though maybe that is more Hollywood actors than Broadway.

Most of the ones I know are out of "work" and a mostly waiters and waitresses.

For male actors, it's definitely the gay stereotype. Granted, a larg portion of male actors are gay, but it's seriously not as many as most people think.

Here's what theatrical people look like according to Jeff MacNelly. Or whoever writes his strip now that he's dead. He also manages to throw in a newspaper writer stereotype at the same time!

The black-clad weird actor definitley reached its apex in "Annie Hall" with John Glover playing the hippy-dippy actor who asks Annie to touch his heart with her foot. I don't think this 1950s beatnik image has alot of followers today, though.

I also think that most male actors are straight, not gay, except for the chorus boy contingent, which is likey 70/30 (gay/strre: Stereotype?

As far as "professional" actors in NYC go, it seems to me that the males that work are pretty normal, quiet guys who can do the job and be very little trouble. The females that work are driven and much more business-oriented than the men. It's a tough career for women and I think it hardens them to a degree. I always think an actress looking for work is like a gay guy looking for husband: they're both gonna kiss alot of frogs
