Stratford, Shaw and the Doras

A question. Do you think that Stratford and Shaw productions should qualify for the Doras? If so, how do you think they would fare? Would Stratford's West Side and Earnest clean up this year? There is some really great work going on in both places but no way for the industry to ofifcially recognize it.

The Dora's give credit to shows that aren't produced by Mirvish or Dancap, and some that are. I think that if Stratford and Shaw were to be included, the Dora's would be a fight between both festivals. The "small man" shows, that the non-general public would be over looked, where they should not.

So...does this mean that Stratford and Shaw could get in on the action if they join TAPA and pay dues? It would be a nice increase in budget for TAPA and could result in some interesting promotion for the Festivals if it worked out that the shows that would be eligible were still running.
