As I am not too familiar with the process of student rush, I was wondering what kind of seats you usually get when you use it? Are they usually like back row mezz or are they good seats like center orchestra?
It really depends on the show. For shows that aren't really doing great, you can get good center orchestra. I used to be able to get front row mezzanine for RENT, although I don't know if those are available these days.
for $20 their worth it. even if you sit in the lobby

I'm pretty sure Rent still has the cheap front mezz tix available, but I'm absolutely sure they go FAST.
I got those tix over the summer. Perfect.
Anyhoo, it depends on the show. Some shows have them in the orchestra (front row/back row/in between), some shows have them in the mezz, still others just sell whats available. It depends.
Thanks. Any info I can get is much appreciated.

Timote316- what are the front mezz seats at RENT and how much are they?
It all depends, really. When I went to the Color Purple, I sat front row Orchestra for $25 (or $26.25)... But when I went to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, I sat Orchestra row Z, the last row of the Orchestra. For between $20-$30 it's worth it no matter where you sit!

It depends on the show. My sisters did student rush for little women and got great seats it really depends on how popular the show it
Make sure you have an id though. Each id can get 2 people in I believe
The RENT tickets are $45 and are usually given out in the front mezzanine. I've received both Row E or Row A - it depends on how early you get to the box office. I think they're really great seats, you can really see everything from that angle and the theater's not too big so you can still see things pretty close up.

Like everyone else has said, it all depends on what show it is. The two times I student rushed at The Producers, I sat in row C on the far left side and the other time I was in row A on that same side. They are okay seats, you just miss a good amount of things happening on the left side. I also just recently student rushed Jersey Boys, and over there they have a limited number of tickets and it seemed that they were all in row W in the center, those are again good seats, but it's the top of the stage you can't see. Both shows sell them for 26.25.
