How are the student rush lines for Gypsy and South Pacific? How early does one have to arrive to make sure they get a student rush ticket?

I thought you were a regular poster..or does someone have the same avatar as you?
I don't think they're even doing student rush at South Pacific. You might get something full-price in the cancellation line. MIGHT.
As for Gypsy, I went after noon on Saturday and got 4th row over on the side for the evening show. Pre-Tonys I went at around 6pm and got I think 6th row on the side. I don't think you'll have a problem getting a seat. When I was helping a friend out, I was there at about 7:30 on a Saturday for front row (the first 10). By...probably 8 the front row was gone for both shows people-wise. That was also pre-Tonys. I don't know how much if at all it's changed since then.
What does it matter if I'm a regular poster or not...I just had a question that I haven't seen discussed.
I'm sorry. It doesn't. I just meant that I thought you were a regular poster..in which case, you would know that South Pacific doesn't have rush tickets, and that there are many threads on Gypsy rush tickets. Didn't mean to offend you.
Yeah, I didn't think South Pacific had a student rush either, but I saw a link to a website that listed all of the shows that have SR/SRO and I could've sworn that I saw South Pacific listed as a show with SR...so, I was a little confused. I guess my instincts were right.
South Pacific does technically do a student rush, but not when they're sold out, and they're sold out every performance until September (for now, they will probably sell out for longer). So your instincts and your eyes were both right.

If you're gonna try the cancellation line for SP, the cancellation is in front of the Mitzi E Newhouse Theatre. The quickest way to get there is to walk straight, pass the entrance stairs, and the parking garage, then make a left. The stage door of Vivian Beaumont Theatre is there, along with the entrance to the Mitzi E Newhouse Theatre.
Thanks!
I'm moving to NYC August 3rd and I really want to try and see South Pacific as soon as I can...just looking for the most affordable and easiest way to do it.
