It's eye-drops in the water, not bleach.

^^Huh? Did you read the article?
"Hours before opening night of L.D. Bell High School's production of "Ha!" in February, Katherine Smith, 19, squirted an eyedropper of bleach into a Mountain Dew before giving it to a sophomore billed with the starring role, police said."
Yes, I did read it. Did you?

"an eyedropper of bleach into a Mountain Dew"
How did you get eyedrops in water out of that?
Am I missing something or are you being intentionally obtuse?
Bleach in a drink is poison.
Eye drops will just give you the runs for a couple of days.
I thought everyone knew that.

yes, this did happen earlier this year in Dallas/Ft. Worth. I was about to say...this is old news. Pretty sad.

^^Just as I thought. Intentionally obtuse.

Wait, this is the same story--this isn't a different case.
"Hours before opening night of L.D. Bell High School's production of "Ha!" in February..."
Why are they just now talking about it?
Just because YOU didn't get it, Erica.....

I don't think TheatreDiva90016 was stating that the article said the person in question put eyedrops into the mountain dew, but rather that eyedrops are what one would use to simply make a person incapacitated. I believe TheatreDiva90016 was simply commenting on the fact that eyedrops-in-drink is a "well-known" solution and that using bleach not only shows ignorance to pop culture but also is down-right lethal.
THANK YOU!
These kids today really need to learn how to properly incapacitate the person they are an Understudy for, without doing permanent harm to the performer.
Sheez.

The reason it's coming up now, is she's going to trial for it now. It was mentioned earlier in passing, and nothing had been confirmed.
Now, she's not going to get cast in anything except for the Prison Drama League's production of Women Behind Bars.

The sad thing is, she's not a very good actress, nor was it a part worth poisioning for.
Doesn't surprise me that this happened in the hate state of Texas. Sounds like pretty typical Lone Star behavior to me.

Actually, it doesn't suprise me that it came from L.D. Bell....the school used to be a really terrific one, but starting around 2000, lots of bad things started happening...three of their football players jumped a gay kid in a parkinglot and nearly beat him to death...there are other incidents, in a similar vein.
somebody dosed my coke in college the night of a show, not to get me out of the show, more as a twisted favor. evidently i carried on fine, but that was only i believe due to the fact that my character was carrying a gun onstage. so i felt safe.

One of the best stories ever!

Everyone's skipping out on the BEST PART: The understudy had people coming to see her perform AND her mother had made her costume!
come on! It's practically writing its SNL skit!
Someone ought to do a background check on the mother.
