If you are 6 foot or taller, it is impossible to enjoy a show in the rear mezz of Studio 54. My knees were jammed against the seat in front of me that they're still bothering me this morning.
I enjoyed the 2nd half of Cabaret when I chose to stand in the back after intermission.
As someone who is 6'7, I completely second the cramped feeling (I saw it last night). However, I found if I positioned myself slightly sideways so that one of my knees is in the dip between the chair backs in front of me. I also make it a point to always buy an aisle.

Went to the matinee of GENTLEMAN's GUIDE yesterday. Same problem with seating in the Walter Kerr mezzanine.
I'm 5'4" with fairly short legs and I found the rear mezz at Studio 54 awful when I saw Drood last year. Luckily I was in the very last row on the aisle, so I was able to stick my legs out to the side a bit, but it was tight. The mezz at the Sondheim wasn't much better, IMHO.
