I had my tape recorder ready and I think I recorded from 9 till 10 and it was from 10 to 11 on NBC, ugh, I missed watching Amanda Peet, damn it!

I actually thought she was a weak link. Hope she warms up.

I loved it - and I was really surprised by how good Matthew Perry was. I loved him on Friends, of course, and liked him on his couple of guest appearances on The West Wing, but I never realized how talented he is until seeing him in Studio 60. I didn't think about Chandler once the entire hour.
The Harriet/Cheno similarities are so obvious it cracks me up. The shameless gossip in me loves it, though. And the preview for next week where they're doing their pre-show prayer and she says, "Dear God, please have something heavy fall on Matthew's head" makes me laugh.

According to imdb.com, the Pilot episode is the only one of the first six they've filmed that Donna Murphy is in. So I guess she's not a regular... I hope they write her in to some interesting subplots or something.

I don't mean to quibble, but it's not Bradford Whitford. It's Bradley. :)
Sorry. He's my favorite. "The West Wing" was pretty much my most favorite show ever, so the opportunity to get Sorkin writing back on television again is awesome. Having Bradley in the cast is just gravy.
Oh, and Sarah Paulson, because I adore her.
I loved this show. Loved it! I wasn't a fan of West Wing, but Sports Night ranks among my favorite tv shows of all time.
Also, Janelle, I am in love with your avatar. "Tim Canterbury. The Canterbury Tales. Shakespeare"

The second the screen went to black with the white text at the end of the show i almost cheered. It's so nice to see Sorkin and Schlamme together again on TV.

Her character had two lines and doesn't seem remotely significant. I don't think she'll ever become more than a background character.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Janel Maloney was supposed to be a one-shot character in the West Wing pilot and she ended up as a regular character for the majority of the show.
Josh + Donna 4eva!!11one!1!
This show was great! I'm definitely already hooked. I'm so glad to have something to replace my now pretty empty TV schedule (no Will and Grace and no Alias). Next week's episode looks like it may even be better than this week's.

Agreed. It's unfortunate, but if I hadn't been looking out for her, I'm not sure I would have noticed that character.
I wouldn't depend on imdb for future casting information. I'm sure if there is a contract negotiation in the plot, we will see Ms Murphy back. A boy does need his agent.

I loved the show. i'm wondering how many guest stars will appear in each episode.
In fact I've always found something odd about fictional shows where guest stars play themselves. Are we supposed to believe that the "Studio 60" people live in a world where Felicity Huffman is on TV, but Ed Asner and Judd Hirsch never were?
But all said, S60 was great!

Not to mention the fact that Felicity Huffman used to star in Sports Night - another Aaron Sorkin show!
I like the idea of bringing in big name stars for random 10 second guest spots. I heard Christine Lahti and Lauren Graham will be on in the next few episodes, too.

Great cast!
Great show and I LOVE Matthew Perry's character!
Hope Donna Murphy makes a return in a future episode...
Can't wait until next week!
Lots of theater people on TV...Jesse Tyler Ferguson on The Class, (he was awesome by the way.) Joel Grey on House, and Donna Murphy on Studio 60. It's almost like seeing your kids move out of the house. :[
It's great for them though.
I really enjoyed this show...I think Bradley and Matthew are great together.

Sports Night was the reason why Felicity was used.
And yes, Lauren Graham is doing a 2-show arc as...Lauren Graham.

Well yeah, Sorkin tends to get attached to his actors... I'm just biding my time until Joshua Malina shows up. (Love him!)
I meant it was funny specifically because Felicity existed as herself in an Aaron Sorkin fake world, when she existed as a character in Aaron Sorkin real world too... and wow, I just exhausted myself.
Superexcited for Lauren Graham to be on the show - hopefully she'll get some great exposure!
I'm sure we'll see Janel Moloney at some point, even if it is for a second.

It would be funny if she had a guest spot as Danny's ex-wife or something.

Of course, Christine Lahti is married to the director, Thomas Schlamme.

True, but you never know. The character of Luke on "Gilmore Girls" was only supposed to be in the pilot (and he only had a handful of lines), but he's still on the show and is a main character now.
A girl can dream.

Josh Malina HAS to show up. . . he is the only actor to work on/in every single project Aaron has ever done. :) I love the story of how he got added to TWW cast. He read that Rob Lowe was leaving and sent Aaron an email that said, "How about hiring a less good-looking replacement who'll work for way less?"
Also, Malina is Timothy Busfield's (Danny from TWW and the control room guy on S60) brother-in-law, so he's got that connection, too.
