"OPINIONS ARE THE BASE OF THIS SITE, SO GOOD FOR YOU IF YOU DONT AGREE WITH MY OPINIONS AND SINCE EVEYONE ON THIS SITE TRASHES WICKED, WHY CANT SOMEONE STAND UP FOR IT AND TRASH AVENUE Q. ITS ONLY FAIR. SO AS YOU WERE WHEN I SPOKE ILL OF AVE Q, GET READY WHEN/IF YOU TALK ABOUT WICKED, FOR A WORLD OF PAIN."
Well, it seems the artichoke is steamed. Frankly IS2BQ, you jumped to conclusions about me too quickly. I love Wicked. I've seen it several times, both with Idina and Eden as Elphaba. I've been following the show since it played in San Francisco. It's also hard to have a civilized discussion with someone who shouts at me before I even voice my opinion. But hey, whatever floats your boat hon.
In honor of the movie-to-musicals that are coming up (a la spiderman and Leagally Blonde) here are some other ones that should never see the light of stage
The Godfather (great book, bad musical) Pulp Ficiton Kill Bill The Matrix
I don't like Avenue Q either and agree that the music is not very good or memorable. If you think, though, that it is offensive and disgusting than I'm afraid you are the problem. It's an adult puppet show. Do you parent censor everything from you?
I think "Chess" is a bad idea for a musical, but it worked.
Here in Hollywood at Universal Studios, there is a spiderman musical. They have singing, dancing and pyrotechnics!!! But they use pop songs. It's pretty funny when Mary Jane busrts into singing "Lady Marmalade" And it's hilarious when the green goblin and spiderman are fighting and the whole cast sings "WAR, HUH!!!......WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR!!!!" lol
