Am I wrong, or are there some of the BIGGEST subject headings ever? Geez, if you're going to be that specific in your subject, why bother writing the message?

Just saying...

(And don't yell at me for putting this on the main board not the off-topic one, I did so knowingly)

actually, I would guess that a lot of posters prefer a detailed subject line. instead of just writing the title of the show in question, they've provided more information on what the message pertains to.

I rather have a long heading than just, "Question" or "I Was Wondering"...which happens all the time.

Sometimes, posters put the entire message in the heading, and then leave a blank message. Or just put "?" in the message. That's not exactly any better that being nondescript. It's cumbersome to look at.

All right, fine - maybe it's because I'm a teacher and it drives me nuts when my students have no ability to summarize or give a main idea. You'd think with all the time on the net they'd get it by now, but now I understand why they can't.

I'll agree I like a more descriptive subject line. You can be descriptive and still be succinct.

What I really hate are the subject lines with more than one question mark or exclamation point.
