Hi! I'm from Mexico city, I'm having a trip to NYC next summer, and I'm not quite sure of what musicals I will able to see at that time, I mean, what shows are opening or still on the run. Could you figure it out?

Well since summer is about 6 months away it is hard to tell. However good possibilities that will still be running are:
Wicked
Phantom of the Opera
Mama Mia
Avenue Q
Spamalot
Dirty Rotten Scoundrals
Spelling Bee
Color Purple
The Producers
Rent
Lion King
Beauty and the Beast
Tarzan

(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."

i agree with theatreboi11 & would add Sweeny, Lion King, Chicago, and Mary Poppins (& maybe the Wedding Singer) to the list.

what have you seen and how many shows do you intend on seeing while you're here?

Well, I've never been on Broadway, and I'm expecting to see AT LEAST 5 shows including: Wicked, The lion king, Lestat, The color purple and Rent (I hope).
And maybe not just see musicals, do u know any play opening at that time (August)?

Oh ok, thank you Isabella, and I really hope to see Cindy Lauper in the Threepenny opera.
Just another question: Are the tickets expensive in Broadway?

Yes ranging from 36-101 dollars. But you can get discount tickets as a member of playbill club (free) or TDF (costs money) You can also buy student rush, general rush, or standing room only tickets for 20-30 dollars. Or go to the TKTS booth for half price tickets.

If you're still considering shows, I'd highly recommend "Jersey Boys"! Jersey Boys rocks! It has a great story, great cast, and the most incredible music of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons!

This show is just plain fun!!!

It's playing at least through 8/31/06 (and probably for years to come!)
