"I don't think Sunday will have a tour. They're doing a production here in Seattle early '09 and I doubt they'd have gotten the rights if a tour was planned."
But if a tour is on the books, then with the upcoming 5th Ave.
production, this means that the tour will skip Seattle (unless Seattle actually spilled the beans, and this is actually a tour stop, but I don't think so).
This happened when 5th Ave. put on Sweeney Todd a few years ago. It made us miss out on the Doyle Sweeney Tour (the closest it played was Portland, OR, and I couldn't make it down there that week
But in that case, it was a toss-up, as 5th Ave did a more traditional production, which I was dying to see more over the Doyle production.
You know, the 5th Ave in Seattle has actually done a majority of Sondheim's works in the past few years (Follies, A Little Night Music, Gypsy (still counts!), Into The Woods, Sweeney Todd, Company, West Side Story (I'm counting this one too!). At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if the 09-10 season will probably have Merrily We Roll Along or Passion!

Cool, I wonder who will be in the cast...?
I saw someone said something about a 10 city tour and I think that is a good idea. They should spend more time in places so they don't have to deal with to much moving.

Posted: 6/20/08 at 3:41pmAH, I'd be so excited if there's a tour! I've been disconnected from the theatre scene for a while now but after seeing the performance of "Move On" during the Tonys I was so sad that I couldn't make it up to NYC to see in time. Being a design major, I was especially blown away by the use of the animation, so creative.
