I totally agree, I saw it in November and everytime I think of it I start laughing.
Please DO NOT MISS this gem - - Judy is outrageous, and Donald is fabulous
as well. Take a change of underwear - - it is really funny.

I have to throw in my 2 cents ... I saw the show at yesterday's matinee (playing to a 1/2 empty house) and I thought it was just marvelous! Don't give me that "Oh, I don't like plays" crap or "It's only 2 characters" ... There aren't many more satisfying shows on Broadway than this little gem. Judy and Donald are both MAGNIFICENT. It's funny, touching, sad, heartfelt. It's just a wonderful piece. My buddy that I went with and I are seriously considering doing this at our community theatre in the future. And since I am the only actor over 30 currently in the company that also plays the piano, guess who's going to be Cosme?!?!

I've been wanting to see this show for so long, now.
Is it doing well?
All I really want is for it to still be open when I finally make it to New York, whenever that may be.

Posted: 12/16/05 at 12:35amNo, its not doing well at all. though considering the simple set and the 2 person cast, I can't imagine its too much money to keep going. Its capacity and gross is along the lines of Latinolongues or In My Life. It got great reviews, i wonder why its doing so bad.

Posted: 12/16/05 at 2:52amIt really is sad that it's not doing well. I first learned of Florence Foster Jenkins about three years ago (at my old HS, we just know her as Florence). So when I found out about this show, I knew I just had to go see it. It was really great. I saw it by myself (because no one wanted to go with me), and I really, really enjoyed it. Judy and Donald were both incredible. It sure takes a lot of talent to be able to sing poorly.

I saw this tonight actually.
I left at intermission. It's not that the show is bad, it's just terribly directed and as boring as hell. It's kind of humorous to see her sing off-key once. Not over and over.
The show is too campy to work. The audience is laughing WITH them instead of AT them - or atleast AT HER. It's quite honestly, terrible.
Judy Kaye is fine, but nothing worth going to sit through THAT for.
