Does anyone doubt Grey will recieve a nod if for no other fact than who he is?
i agree about carole shelley. she most definatley will. I wouldn't say people DOUBT that Joel Grey will not get a nomination. It's just not such a large chance. I mean there are many other actors out there who gave better performances than Grey did.
I honestly dont see why Joel G would be nominated. His role isn't that outstanding nor was he. I think he could do much better. I do agree however that Ms.Shelley will be nominated... and possibly the guy who plays Bac?

Christopher Fitzgerld. He was incredible. I do hope that he is nominated.

exactly Phantom.. there are certain performers who, because of their 'staus' are almost guaranteed a nod when they step on a Bway stage
Shelley's role isn't so big that she deserves a Tony for it. A nod, perhaps, not I don't think she deserves a tony. I'm crossing my fingers for Karen Ziemba of Never Gonna Dance, as the critics have praised her for doing a great job in her role.
i just pray IDINA wins because SHE deserves it this year.
Carol Shelley and Christopher Fitzgerald
Amneris, I agree with you completely. Idina deserves the Tony!

I agree with Amneris...As much as I LOVE Kristin...Idina does a kick-ass job in this role, and deserves it more than anyone!
Does anybody think the actor playing Dr. Dillamond (cant remember his name off the top of my head) and/or Michelle Federer will get any recognition?

I think Michelle MAY get nominated for Best Supporting actress...I think the nomination will be between Michelle and Carol...I still wish they would nominate for the supporting actress category...but oh well...she's already one once...it's Idina's turn!!

I think Carole Shelley is very likely to get a nomination. Shelley's role is the largest other than the two stars. I'd be very surprised if Grey was nominated. The role is small and his material is the weak. He does what he can. Good thing he insisted on having a dance.

I don't understand why they would even think of nominating Grey? He is an awesome performer, and he was okay in Wicked...but he didn't do anything that was Tony Worthy...

I think Michelle and Carole will get the nod for supporting actress. Norbert *should*, and I think Christopher should too because he was very good!
All I'm saying, like everyone else, is that Idina better get the Tony. On another thread (can't remember which one), we were talking about how they may pick Kristin over Idina just because Kristin's name is bigger and how some people thought the Tony's were rigged. One example was Marissa over Bernadette...I'm not saying this is, but Idina over Kristin might look suspicious to *some* people...
I definately think that Michelle and Norbert should be nominated. I wasn't too thrilled with Joel Grey's performance, but he will probably be nominated because of his...Broadway legend-ness.

Norbert, Michelle, and Carole all deserve to be nominated.
Lets just nominate the whole cast!
Is Shelley's part really that large though? I mean, I don't think its enough to get a nomination...

Shelley's role is larger than any of the others except for Chenoweth and Menzel. And she makes the most of every line and every moment on stage. Her role is larger than many people who have won Tonys in the supporting category (Ron Rifkin in CABARET, Marilyn Cooper in WOMAN OF THE YEAR, Dick Latessa in HAIRSPRAY, Betty Buckley in CATS). Her role is larger than the the two roles put together that Hinton Battle won Tonys for (SOPHISTICATED LADIES, MISS SAIGON).
I guess I just didn't notice her that much.

Really? You didn't notice Shelley? What she can do with a line! She made her scenes snap. And she totally dominated the scene where she pairs Galinda and Elphaba as roommates both times I saw the show. I enjoyed it every time she came back on stage. Watch the OLD COUPLE movie or any episode of the TV show version with her and she walks off her every scene. I saw her in THE DESTINY OF ME off Broadway about ten years ago and she was astonishing.
