I think she looked beautiful. However old she was, it didn't keep her from delivering a fabulous performance.
oh wait i saw it.
Actually Al.. Elaine Stritch is the one that couldn't be more wrong/old for the role..
But Stritch would be funny!

Okay enough!!! Susan Egan played the role in a early workshop. Yes, she is a little old for the role, but she is not ancient and I believe that she will be able to do it justice and then some. I don't think her voice is as strong as Sutton's, but she is a presence.
Whatever, Craig...I'm not the fan of Egans' that you are. Not my cup of tea. Not even on a bad day.

Susan IS taking over.. she was "picked" or as it is more commonly stated.. she has been "cast" as Millie.
why not Darcie?? Hmmmmm.. I did not know that playing a role on tour guaranteed you the right to play it bBroadway as soon as the role opened up next......
Susan will be terrific. She has a voice like heaven, and she has the comic chops to play Millie. Age, in this case, will be irrelevant. I just saw Susan in Cabaret, and it was a charming, exciting, and funny performance - all in the right places.
I'll be making a special trip to NY soon to catch this performance (as well as Debbie Gravitte, one of other faves, in Chicago.)
When this was discussed before, I was not a supporter of Egan playing the role. She won't be able to sing the role like Sutton will, and I think they should bring a young, fresh unknown to the role.
as much as i love darcie i dont think she should be Millie on broadway.she was a good amneris, but i dont know about Millie.
