The soundtrack is over produced. It is one of if the worst facets of the movie for me. It's too neat, clean, and polished to be Rent. It lacked energy and excitement.
The Rent movie is a piece of trash and the soundtrack is the absolute least of its worries.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to hire the director of Home Alone to direct RENT (?!) should be locked away. Trash screenplay, trash direction, trash cinematography, and the casting is about a decade late.
Terrance Johnson is becoming the go-to emergency Collins, now at the Muny. He got a call Wednesday night, arrived Thursday morning, and the show opens Friday.
