Just got two tickets.....am I wasting my time. I do love Chris Noth and Kiefer so I guess I can stare at them for a couple hours.
What's the running time and any intermission?
TIA

It's a solid production of a creaky, dated play. The acting--with the exception of Jason Patric--is very good, with Brian Cox truly commanding. It's not a waste of your time. Running time is 2:10 with intermission.
I saw it last night, I enjoyed myself. I thought the acting was pretty good and I liked the story. It's not special though, I've seen better and I've seen a lot lot worse.

I was there last night too - right next to the b##ch who's phone went off durimg the climax!! I almost committed murder!! What the hell is WRONG with people? Those ushers announced REPEATEDLY to turn off cell phones!! And having it NEXT to me was SO embarrassing!! Stupid cow!!
Anway, I have to say I agree with the other opinions here. I'm glad I saw it, but I wish Jason's father had lived long enough to do modern rewrites on it. Certainly not a waste of your time - just don't expect anything earth shattering in terms of theater. Good solid performances though.
Jason Miller did do "modern rewrites"--see the 1999 TV version starring Gary Sinise, Paul Sorvino et al. It works even less than the play as period piece.
That was awful Billy, I couldn't believe that they actually had to run out of the room with her purse cause she couldn't figure out where it was in her bag to shut it off. That's definitely one of the worse things I've seen in a theatre, especially cause it was at the climax of the story.
I've seen hundreds of shows in my life, but this was one of the least enjoyable experiences I've had. My friends and I got standing room tickets and found ourselves watching the sound cue screens more than the play. We even debated leaving at intermission- something I've never done. The only remotely redeemable character was the verbally abusive alcoholic and some of the dated dialogue was outright uncomfortable to listen to. You already have the tickets, so you might as well, but I wouldn't want to spend my time and money on it again.

Try being the poor innocent guy sitting next to her as the dirty looks came back at us! Just my luck to get stuck next to that stupid woman!
I have ZERO sympathy. I not ONLY triple check to be sure my phone is OFF at the theater, but I also put it on airplane mode AND make sure it's VERY accessible to me in case some weird glitch turns the damned thing on unexpectedly. There's no excuse for "forgetting" to turn off your phone at a show. Frankly, they should have hauled not ONLY her purse out of the theater, but her ass should have been hauled out at the same time!
Imagine if LUPONE had been in the show where that happened!!

I have to agree with orangeskittles... waste of time.
I was there opening night.. some good acting, but the story is dull and dated... I found myself dozing off.
Waste of talent
I just came back, the play was okay....the cast got a standing O.
Truth be, I must have missed most of the dialogue because I was drooling at Chris Noth during the entire play. Was in the 4th row and he is soooooooooooooo sexy. I really had the urge to jump on him on stage.

I had the opposite reaction. I thought Noth looked old and heavy. I thought most of them looked older than the characters ages of 38. I also felt Noth's acting was the worst and he was hard to hear at times. I had read that Jason was not good but I had no problem with him. Thought Kiefer did a good job of disappearing into the character. The show was just ok. I was glad I had not paid to see it. Audience did not stand at the curtain call and lately it seems they stand for everything.
You're right about the cast being too old for this play. Chris is 56 playing a 38 year old. Pretty unbelievable. BUT I still think he's a sexy guy!!!
