THE FROGS Video Clip

FYI: On broadway.com, there is a new video clip from The Frogs. It shows a lot of the performance itself. Looks oddly interesting.

I am not that lazy (well, maybe I am), but whenever you post something like this, please post a link. Sorry if that is too much to ask.

re: THE FROGS Video Clip

The frog dance is at the end of Act I, and it does fit in because they're riding in a boat and start hearing the frogs and its this whole big thing that I won't get into only because people probably don't want to know the whole plot before they get there. So, basically all I'll say is they're riding on a boat through the river STYX in Hades and they run into these frogs.
And hang on, when did you win the discus?

Right off the home page: http://www.broadway.com

It's a nice synopsis about a thoughtful and entertaining production, IMHO. Way to go, Nathan!

re: THE FROGS Video Clip

Al Dente - the explanation of the Frogs in this thread is really NOT why they are in the show. Dionysos explains that he has a fear of Frogs because they relish the status quo and will do anything to avoid change. The Frogs sing about leaving things the way they are and not striving to change and improve. Their attack on Dionysos on the River Styx represents them trying to keep him from getting to Hades to bring back someone who can help change the world for the better. Hope this helps.

re: THE FROGS Video Clip

I know why they meet up with them in the show. I've seen the show. I personally, don't like knowing the whole plot until I see a show, and thus was not about to start explaining the entire plot.

But isn't that what Al Dente asked?

The plot of this show has been widely discussed on these boards and other broadway boards for at least a month and the Aristophanes book is published AND so is the Shevelove version. Additionally, the video we were talking about gives away a lot of the plot...so...hence, I really didn't think we needed to have a 'spoiler' title in this thread (nor did the original poster put one there). I applaud the fact that you didn't want to give away the plot (though it's already been liberally given away in other posts) but then why answer the thread with a 'non answer'? That doesn't really help the person asking the question. Better just to say 'you'll have to go see it to find out what the frogs have to do with the plot, because I can't tell you for fear of spoiling the show. Just a thought!
