Since the girls perform two shows a week, does that mean Sophia will leave in 3 weeks? That would make it towards the end of December. I would love to see Sophia again.
I believe Milly is leaving around the 3rd week in January. Have no idea about the others.
the great thing about these girls is how they protected them and treated them all as equals. No Girl A is better than Girl B etc... they seemed to really love each other too from everything i have seen and heard. I hope none of that changes with the new cast.

I only say Milly and I thought she was a very special little girl. Her acting was unlike most of what I have seen on broadway. Real and nuanced. For a child, i thought she was spectacular.
All of the girls seem very polite and down to earth (interviews and such) I wish them luck transitioning back to "normal life". I would imagine that must be hard for a child to do (enter in "life after tomorrow" promo). If nothing else, they will have wonderful stories to tell friends and family for years and years.
Bravo girls.

Not sure if they are all transitioning into "normal life". Some have had other professional opportunities already while being Matilda and some will be auditioning for other things right away.
Regardless, I agree they were all spectacular girls and I hope this experience has given them a lot of remember and cherish as they go forward.

I could see any of them being cast in LesMis.
Hmm...could that be why Sophia is leaving so early? She would make an adorable Little Cosette. She could easily have played Matilda for another year with her age and size.

I mentioned the Les Mis possibilities in the Les Mis thread..I mentioned Sophia as well. (great minds!) She would have the perfect voice for Castle in the Cloud. I also think Oona would especially have the right look for the show - she is so thin, I can see her made up to look poor and hungry.
They are all teeny girls - so I don't think anyone is too big to stay. Maybe it's just time to give some other girls this chance. Plus its a lot for these families..with rehearsals and such..it's been over a year of commuting, bad weather traveling, etc. I know two live out of the city - one in the city, and not sure about the 4th.
Regardless, I think they had a great year - a great year for four spectacular girls.

Either way, does anyone know when Bailey's leaving? Also, it seems that if any of the girls were going into other shows relatively soon, they would let them leave first so as to go ahead and start rehearsals sooner. So if any of them would end up becoming Cosette, I think it would be either Sophia or Oona (that'd be pretty funny imo if they split the roll together again). Just an observation.
Also, do they hire different actresses to play Young Eponine too, or do they just use whatever standby for Young Cosette? Seemes like it would be almost a waste to bring in another actress or two to play Young Eponine whom I don't think has any lines. If I remember correctly. It seems like it was one of the Young Cosettes who did it when I saw Les Mis touring last year, but I can't remember for sure.

I have heard in January (not December) and the last I heard for any of the original Matilda's would be the third week in January at the latest.
I don't know if it's just a coincidence but so far, they have left in order of when they started. Oona's first show was March 4th and she left first. Sophia was second on March 5th and she was the next to go.
If it follows accordingly, Milly started on the 8th and Bailey on the 9th so they will be leaving in that order. Or that was just a coincidence..

Milly will move on to PIPPIN where she will understudy the role of Berthe.

Milly is also leaving in early-mid January so I guess nobody is leaving this week.
I think when it was originally on Broadway, 3 girls split the role of Young Cosette/Young Eponine. I might not be wring though. It would be very funny if Oona/Sophia shared the role.

Does anyone have any information as to when Bailey or Milly will be playing their final performance?

Way back in early December...I heard that Milly was leaving the week of January 21 or around January 21...but the exact date was not told to even the family yet. I have no idea if that is still true.
I have never heard anything about Bailey at all..

That makes sense as the Sophia's family was not told until the week before the exact date. Thanks for the info.

Half the cast was out sick tonight so maybe they will all come back and play the adult parts. Just joking, but seriously it seems like they had a difficult time finding enough healthy bodies to fill the roles tonight.
Have any of the new Matilda's started yet? Or are Milly and Bailey just doing all the shows between them?

Two of the Newtilda's have been on since before Christmas.. Gabriella and Paige. I haven't heard if the other ones started yet..but I have seen a welcome post at Twitter when the first two started but not yet for the final two..
There have always been 4 Matilda's...

Bailey is leaving next weekend. I'd assume that either Ripley or Ava will replace her after that.

I believe Milly is leaving the weekend after that and then all 4 of the new Matildas will rotate the role.

Strange that they don't announce the final show for the Matildas. They did it (and still do it in London) for all the Billys of BILLY ELLIOT, even on the tour.

Yes that would be nice. ^^
Jack Broderick (Bruce) posted in Instagram that his last day is on March 2nd. I guess they are not so secretive with the rest of the cast.

That will be sad to see Jack go. He is so good. I wonder if any of the other cast will be leaving that weekend?

sadly, Bailey Ryon is playing her final performance of Matilda today. Best of luck to her in the future.
And then there was one

She was my first Matilda..and then indeed all done.
I wonder if she was still sick this week from the Matilda flu because I don't think she has gone on all week and the girls usually do two a week. I doubt she is doing two today...
I wonder which of the remaining New-tilda's will be the third to join the show.

She was my Matilda and she was wonderful. I wish her the best.
