clear channel has announced to revive funny girl by doing a nation wide search for a new talent. the director of the show..no ..yes ms. streisand herself..can you believe this..she has said she has wanted to direct a broadway show for years..who better....

I think there should be a revival, and I think Leslie Kritzer or Steph Block should do it.

As much as WISH thinks he is the expert on all things, he is mistaken. She did say it. Again, I can't tell you when or where, but it was said. I do not think it will ever happen, but the statement was made.

I think the posters who think they heard Streisand say that are lovely, well intentioned people. Perhaps she did say that "she wanted to direct a Broadway play" at some time many decades ago....However, as far as I can tell, the only people who ever heard her say this are the posters here who mentioned it.
I have certainly seen every "television interview" Streisand has done in the last 40 years and read most interview pieces she granted, not all, but most. I have read every major book written about her.
It is certainly possibly Barbra at some point said something I missed. I apologize for sounding "too much in the know," and genuinely am sorry for any offense I may have caused. That was not my intention and I am truly sorry. And by the way........I HOPE I am WRONG. I would be delighted if Streisand directed for Broadway.

Kindness, she really did.........towards the end of her very long acceptance speech when the American Film Institute paid tribute to her. I guess she has lots and lots of oil of olay. :)
