The Daily News gives the show 4 Stars out of 5:
'In light of the fact that two notable revivals of Anton Chekhov's melancholy masterwork have run in New York within the last 13 months (one with Dianne Wiest, the other, Ian McKellen), it's easy to consider a new Broadway version from London just a waste of feathers.
Until you see it.'

Newsday and the Bergen Record are also both good. Probably fall into the Very Positive camp, though there are rave-like elements.

Both Newsday and the Bergen Record are Very Positive, you're right: Bergen just barely so.
AM New York gives the show 2 1/2 Stars out of 4:
'We hate to rain on everyone's parade, but we didn't find it to be so damn extraordinary. We're not saying that Ian Rickson's production is bad not at all. It's meticulously staged and occasionally gripping. And Christopher Hampton's new translation is colloquial and comic while remaining elegant.
But with the exceptions of Ms. Thomas and the similarly eccentric and lively Zoe Kazan as Masha, this "Seagull" lacks theatricality and ensemble chemistry. And more often than not, it feels dull, quiet and slow...'

Well, if one is to give credence to a handout paper like amNY, then raves from the Philadelphia Inquirer and Hartford Courant should be considered.
