When I answered I forgot to add some of my own:

He stands around and waits to be castrated.

The woman he likes is too old so he takes the daughter.

She blows out the candles.

Disgusted at who she's been kissing, he orders that she be killed.

He doesn't show up, again.

She goes upstairs, even though there is someone knocking at her door.

The family decides to share the sons wife.

Right in the middle of a happy song, the final two members of the cast die.

The fat lady sings, with her old friends.

He finally grows up.

She dies but they continue to "tell the story".

They go to jail and make the prisoners sing and dance.
HAIRSPRAY

Everyone becames hetrosexual.
ZANNA, DON'T

They break up/get together.
LAST 5 YEARS

They all head off to begin the world anew.

Grandpa dies and they eat birthday cake.

The woman he loves rejects him so he shoots himself.

The friends leave and the daughter goes back to her husband.

He walks with braces to the podium.

The entire cast dies.

His lover is shot and he electrocutes himself.

The brother gets beaten up and the sisters cancel their trip to Europe.

She tells a lie and ends up having sex with her husband.

She commits perjury to save her husband but then she kills him when he leaves her for a younger woman.

He gets killed and she leaves town with his coffin.

The estate is auctioned.

The brother and sister are reunited.

His daughter is killed and her dies with her in his arms.

They sign the document.

The King sends his Queen back to prison.

The ex-wife meets the new wife in a powder room, and the husband in question is never actually seen.

She doesn't melt.

He accuses his wife of sleeping with his best friend.

They get drunk and he almost escapes from jail.

He's really a woman with very short hair. (just a hint, it's not VV)

He walks around naked.

Her mother dies, her sister moves in with her, and her Father is an alcoholic.

Time for some catching up:

'The glamorous despot dies' is NOT A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (perhaps you were thinking of Despo, Glynis Johns' understudy, nyctopone?)

For 'The kid gets laid,' TEA AND SYMPATHY is certainly acceptable. However, I was thinking of something else a little more contemporary. Anyone else?

Still pending: 'The attorney and the actress wind up together.'

'The prosecuting attorney dies affirming his
faith.'

I'll venture to say 'He finally grows up' is NINE.

'He stands around and waits to be castrated' is either SWEET
BIRD OF YOUTH or ORPHEUS DESCENDING

'She blows out the candles' is THE GLASS MENAGERIE

"She goes upstairs thought there is someone knocking at the
door' is THE HEIRESS

'She commits perjury etc." is WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION

'He gets killed and she leaves town with his coffin' is
THE VISIT?

'The estate is auctioned' is THE CHERRY ORCHARD

Hmmm. Whichever ones I got right it's not that I'm smart. I've never seen or heard any, except for RENT and that was only once so my conclusion is that these shows are pretty dumb. Oh yes, LITTLE SHOP I know well.

My rationale was that you were going for current/recent Broadway/off-Broadway:
Oswald was shot in jail(prison), hence ASSASSINS
In RENT the young girl dies then awakens and they all keep singing the ending.
LITTLE SHOP, everyone dies...I saw it in the original off-B'way production.
I was going to go with CHILDREN OF EDEN, but since it hasn't played Broadway or off (to my knowledge) I figured it didn't fit the scope of answers. Plus I don't know it at all.

It was fun.

The three ghosts do it all in one night.

The play fit exactly in between the time that the lights came up and the lights went down.

The genius dies and the mediocrities are absolved.

The wife tells her husband about the boy whom she believed died for her.

She's discovered to have the truly good voice and stars in the next movie.

He's been committing beastiality.

The director leaves his company and the fool takes over.

He dies after seeing the trojan woman.

He shoots his friend so no one else will.

He's shot in the pool.

The statue kills him.

He comes out of his coma with a newfound appreciation for life.

He doesn't let his friend do himself in; the country is taken over.

He gets stuck in the wall.

He gets stuck on the roof and becomes a nut like everyone else.

The rainbow dies.

He regains the sight in one eye and marries the sadder but wiser girl.

He tells the Angel he wants to live.

The day ends, he finds a pencil.

The backstabbing witch gets an award and a visit from her number one fan.

She marries Plaza 04433.

Her husband is arrested, she marries the poet; the poet's daughter marries the prince.

He feels trapped, but happy.
