HIIIIII BROADWAY HUMANS!!!!! I'm taking a pre ib history class and a big part of the first semester is an assignment called the historical investigation. It's basically a 2000 word essay and I want to write about something theatre related. I need a research topic/question. They have to be something like "to what extent was art censored in Nazi Germany". I need a very juicy and topic question to dig into. Anything involving theatre from Butoh to Musical theatre (this would be preferred) to Stanislavski's Acting Methods. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE MUCH LOVE!!!! LOVE U LONG TIME <3 ( I like to spread the love man????)
Why not do the work yourself and find something that interests you rather than joining this chat board to ask strangers to do it for you?

that rudeness was uncalled for also I do have some but im trying to see if someone has something better.
Not rude, but terse.
You jump in here with no history, to ask people to do your school work for you and sign off with a racist cliche. I think my reply WAS called for.
...and if you want to see rude, hang out here and All That Chat for a while.

Now I'm truly sorry for being bothersome. However I still don't see what's wrong with getting recommendations from people experienced in the field.Im not asking to write a 2000 word essay. I am sorry if the film reference offended you tho...
OK, here's one. "If it wasn't for Jews, fags and gypsies there would be no theater." True or false?
Or some other direct quote from Mel Brooks' "To Be or Not to Be" 1983 film.

Bothersome? How about lazy, or even entitled?
You asked a community of which you are not a member to work for you. You think folks just have thesis statements meeting your needs just floating around in their heads?
Perhaps, if you'd have asked between two topics (since you already have ideas, supposedly) people wouldn't have been so harsh. BTW, your grammar and spelling leaves much to be desired....hopefully you work on that in your essay.
And yes, the idea is also part of your homework.
I can see how starting a discussion on a theater board could be considered research, but you need to present your thesis before there can be any meaningful conversation.
Asking strangers to choose your topic is lazy and probably cheating.
Choose your own topic first, this may (should) require some personal research.

I don't, but do you need a proofreader?

There is nothing wrong with asking for suggestions about a topic. The OP is not asking us to write the essay just to present suggestions on a theater-related subject.

If you have Asian friends, you might want to ask them if it's offensive to them. Also, assuming you wanted to express gratitude, would you say that to an Asian individual you just met?
College is where one is supposed to learn to become a self-sufficient adult and be exposed to other people, cultures and communities. Evidently you've been slacking in your Freshman year. Hope you can stay in school long enough for that to happen to you.

See this thread for A) Ideas B) An example of how to ask for something like this C) How to search to see if this question had already been asked...

You're asking how to adapt a history paper into a musical theatre topic, I would suggest asking for some guidance of how to merge the two, as opposed to outright topic ideas.
