Has anyone else noticed the differnce in Ushers. The Jujamcyn ushers I think are the best. They are polite and seem well spoken. THe nederlanders ushers are next some are polite and others seem nasty and uneducated. The shubert ushers are the worse. I went to see seven shows so far this month. Every shubert usher I had contact with was just nasty and rude.

It's spelt theatRE.
TheatER is when you are going to the movies.
And you should really do a search as there are countless threads on ushers.

There, I fixed that for you.

Ushers at Neil Simon and John Golden were the worst....when I went there last year.
Someone took a picture at the balcony ( we were at the orchestra ) and ushers just
yell while sitting us from Orchestra to balcony.. wow ! she was LOUD !!! (before the show)
I like ushers at Walter Kerr, Hilton & Al Hirschfield... theyre really nice !!

"THEY ARE THE SAME THING."
You are right, the dictionary lists both spellings and the definitions follow. I used to think "theater" referred to the "art" of dramatizing, and "theatre" was the physical building, but they are all the same spelling.
