I recently stumbled upon a Castalbums.org and Amazon pre-order page for a studio cast album of a musical written by Brian Hill and Neil Bertram of STORY OF MY LIFE fame (apparently):
"From the Drama Desk Award-nominated creators of Broadway's The Story of My Life comes The Theory of Relativity, a new musical written for and about college-age youth. Much in the style of A Chorus Line, composer/lyricist Neil Bartram and bookwriter Brian Hill sat down with a group of young actors and listened to their hilarious and heartbreaking stories about home, childhood, family, love and loss. Inspired by these stories, they have crafted an emotional and highly accessible show that explores the profound sense of connection in these diverse personal narratives. Brimming with youthful exuberance and quirkiness, Bartram's score gives unique voice to that awkward dance to adulthood while upending familiar themes in unexpected ways. In it's first year alone, The Theory of Relativity has played to packed houses in London, Toronto and across the United States. Now PS Classics has assembled the very best new voices from among it's many casts for this world premiere recording. The Theory of Relativity is a joyous musical exploration of the communities we build out of our shared experiences."
Anyone know anything about it?? No mention on the PS Classics site.

It was originally workshopped here in Canada at Sheridan College. Bartram and Hill very kindly mailed me a copy of the demo recording and the music is very good, sometimes very stirring. Some songs return to my consciousness and get stuck in my head. Probably my favourite thing Bartram and Hill have written.

So this album came out today, did anyone buy/listen? I'm hesitant to buy until I hear some clips (looking up in iTunes now) but some other opinions would be helpful too.

They made a cast recording of one the earlier productions. It was never commercially available, but Neil Bartram was kind enough to send me a copy.
So while I haven't heard this new recording I can say that I love the songs. They are tender, funny, and heartbreaking.
Have you heard "The Story of My Life"? If you enjoyed that you'll definitely enjoy this.
