Oh Boy, what is going on at the 'New York Times', with Isherwood hating everything and Brantley simply adoring everything this season?
Has Brantley been stealing Isherwood chill pills?
To be fair, Brantley has mostly reviewed the shows that have been widely received as positive this season. He's been pretty spot on (the only one I think he was wrong on was Anything Goes, which is a veritable bore). Brantley didn't give Catch Me If You Can and House of Blue Leaves good reviews. Isherwood, however, has just turned into a grouch. Sister Act was fun. Priscilla was fun. Born Yesterday was good, and Nina Arianda was amazing. Yet he scoffed at all of these things. He did the same thing last season towards the end when he called Lend Me a Tenor awful (he was pretty much the only one who held that opinion).
