I'm visiting in a few weeks and am so excited to see a bunch of shows when I'm there! I hope to see some combination including "Young Frankenstein," "Spring Awakening," "Grease," and a couple others if I can squeeze them in. (Probably "Rent" too, for good measure, because it's closing, but I imagine at this point that at least that one will be fairly easy to get at the last-minute, right?)
Which shows, if any (not just the ones I mentioned) are harder or easier to get the same day via TKTS? Depending on how that usually goes, I'll maybe order some tickets before I leave and try my luck at the booth for the rest.
Also, where are the TKTS booths located? I'll either be staying at the Millenium Broadway, the Time Hotel, or Milford Plaza. It's all coming together. Thanks to those who advised me on the safety of the area and opinions on places to stay for reasonable rates!
Oh, one more question: I thought there were no shows on Wednesday evenings in NY, but an acquaintance told me sometimes there are. Which shows are on Wednesdays? That's the day I'm coming in and I'll have plenty of time to get to a theatre. Why waste an evening when I can squeeze another show in!
Thanks!
Most shows have Wednesday evening performances. Chicago, Avenue Q, and Rent are the only ones that don't.

All shows are up on Wednesdays. That is a 2 show day. Matinee and evening.
TKTS is also located right in Times Square across from the Lunt-Fontanne where Little Mermaid is playing. The shows you mentioned have a good chance of being on TKTS since they aren't sell-outs. Grease sometimes sells a lot of their tickets, depending on the week.
uncageg, that is not true. The shows I listed according to Playbill do not have shows at all on Wednesday.
I just checked and Grease does have evening shows on Wednesdays...just matinees.
Make sure you just check Ticketmaster/Telecharge.
Where did you read that? According to Playbill:
In The Heights Performance Schedule:
Tuesday - Saturday @8pm
Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday @2pm
No 8pm performances Wednesdays, April 23 and 30; added 7pm performances Sundays, April 27 and May 4
Well, if you read the link I pasted:
In the Heights
Monday DARK
Tuesday 8pm
Wednesday 2pm
Thursday 8pm
Friday 8pm
Saturday 2pm, 8pm
Sunday 2pm, 7pm
So one is wrong.
EDIT: According to Ticketmaster, they have Wednesday evening performances. The Playbill page hasn't been updated since May 7.
Just wondering, and I don't mean so sound rude, but why can't people do simple research like this themselves? Go to Ticketmaster/Telecharge and search the show you want, and you will see what times the database sells shows for.
Well my bad. I didn't know those shows were dark on Wed. But I agree, a little research would have answered your question about this.

Millie, my main question was which shows are easier to get through TKTS, and to clarify whether Wednesday evenings are an option. I did not ask about the starting times of every show on Broadway. Of course we can research certain things ourselves, but I do not live in NY like many posters here. Online info, as you both proved, isn't always correct.
Message boards exist for the purpose of exchanging information. Sorry the person you're fighting with got you all hot and bothered, but we all post or respond at our own will, too.
Thanks for the info, everyone.
lovepuppy: Yes, online info can be incorrect, but had you gone to Ticketmaster or Telecharge and search the dates for shows, you can click on the various times you want to buy tickets. Telecharge and Ticketmaster have calenders, and for Telecharge you can only view it when searching for tickets. Again, I don't mean to sound rude, but try it, it is not that difficult and is rarely inaccurate. Just need to do a little simple research.
Uncageg: You were correct about In the Heights. My bad.
And it is sometimes difficult to tell which shows will definitely be at TKTS. None of the shows you listed are really sellouts and most likely will be there. Grease has been selling pretty well, so not sure about that.
