I think I am saying the right thing when I say that TKTS does not sell Wicked tickets so what's the best way to buy them. We wanted to go Friday and it's sold out so would we have better chance to do student rush or the lottery?
NO student rush for Wicked. Lotto or cancelation is your only chance.
How would I be able to get cancelation tickets?
Sorry for me being stupid, lol...
Then if we do not get Wicked we want to see The Producers and would we be able to go to the post office right before the show and purchase them? That has worked with Hairspray
You'll probably get cancellation.. you have to pay full price though
You can always try lotto but its really hard to win... I was there during the transit strike and I thought I'd have a better chance of winning but there were still abvout 160 people there.... but I still won lol! It was the closest I have ever seen Wicked (I've seen it 5 times.. 3 in Tampa.. 2 in NYC).
Unless someone is mailing you tickets, it's hard to get tickets for anything from the post office.

Yes, you do pay full price for cancellations but you also get the best seats in the house.

Don't you need to get there fairly early to make sure that you get cancellation tickets? I have never done it, but that is what I have heard from others.
Does my friend need to be there with me for the lottery?

Didn't you know that they are now selling theater tickets at the post office? They have a special machine right next to the Wanted Posters.
Damn, I didn't know that, I will have to look into it!

Be careful how you put your bills into the machine. They all have to face the same direction.
I'll be sure, can't miss out on those special tickets! Do you think I get a free stamp or extra bonus, like with metrocards?

You get a special coupon which gives you free admission to Corine's Coroner.

(happy sigh) You just made my night with that, hehe.
hey I have the flu!! don't blame me
box office, haha...
ok I am laughing my ass off
and I am so gullible that I thought you were serious about the machines, lol
I've gotten tickets for Wicked 3 times from the cancellation line. Twice I arrived at the box office 2 hrs before show. Once I got there 1 hr before show, but I was the 16th person and the last to get the tickets.

I'm surprised they have that many cancellation tickets. Interesting.

They are mostly unused house seats, with some cancelattion and ticket broker returns. There are usually about 20-30 cancellation tickets.
So for a Saturday evening show.. I should get there.. when, like, 5:00? I'm going to do it this Saturday.

more than a year ago, I did the cancellation line in December for the Saturday Night show. I got on-line @ 2:00 when the matinee started and there were already 5 people in line which was sort of a surprise...
for the record,, The Prodducers only does student rush Tuesday, Wedensday, and Thursday.
So I should get there when the matinee starts to get evening tickets?
I think you are safe to get in line at 4 - 5PM. When people start showing up for the lottery (around 5PM), one of the friends usually gets in the cancellation line and the others try their luck on the lottery. The Wicked officials frown on this and often threaten to kick the person in the cancellation line out if this is found out. I don't think they mind you holding a spot for a friend, or switching off with friends, but don't let it be known that one of them was trying for the lottery tickets. It's strange but true. The guy in the lobby is misreable. AND remember bring CASH. Most cancellations are CASH. The seats are the best. Twice I have gotten 15th row center for $110
oh wow, so it's all that expensive? Cos we're not really ready to be over $100.
